Sean Wotherspoon’s adidas SUPERTURF gets a makeover

Sean Wotherspoon’s collaboration with adidas The SUPERTURF ADVENTURE originals might have been divisive, but things might be about to change for the silhouette, as the Three Stripes have been busy creating two new general release colorways.

Available in “Creamy White” and “Wild Brown,” these GR iterations take a more relaxed approach than their Wotherspoon-designed counterparts. As a result, this makes the already busy pair more and more wearable, with pops of color added to the strap details and other technical elements of the ’90s-inspired hiking sneaker, livening up the overall design.

For example, the ‘Cream White’ offering sports a multi-layered upper made up of mesh and suede panels interspersed with lilac straps, the latter also marking the three stripes. SUPERTURF branding adorns the tongue, itself covered in speckled cord laces like on a pair of hiking boots, while a zipper has also been added to the tongue coating to make it more resistant to outdoor conditions.

As for the “Wild Brown” color, the make-up is more centered on the burgundy suede and brown suede panels that cover the copper-tinted mesh. Touches of forest green adorn the collar, heel and interior, while the black strap serves as a color break for this wintery pair.

The SUPERTURF ADVENTURE is equipped with a multi-piece sole with adiPRENE + cushioning and stability technology, as well as a studded outsole for better grip. Take a look at the two adidas Originals SUPERTURF ADVENTURE colorways above, and expect the sneakers to hit retailers like Sivasdescalzo on January 11, priced at € 160 (around $ 180) each.
