Stettinger throws the javelin at national championships

Junior Alice Stettinger competed among the nation’s top high school athletes when she threw the javelin at the 2022 New Balance Outdoor National Championships meet held in Philadelphia June 16-19. Stettinger finished in 30th place for the javelin while representing the East Haven girls. outdoor athletics team at the national meet.

Stettinger competed in the javelin throw championship round at the New Balance Nationals last week. Stettinger recorded a best throw of 93-foot-3 en route to placing 30th in the event.

Stettinger put on another standout run for the Yellowjackets in the 2022 spring campaign, winning the javelin in three postseason encounters. Stettinger finished first in the javelin at the CSC East Division Championship (120-1), CSC Championship (122-2), and Class M State Championship (120-5), earning top honors in the race for the second in a row. year at section and state meetings. Stettinger went on to finish second in the javelin at the State Open (125-10) and then came 15th in the New England Championship (107-0) on behalf of the Yellowjackets.
