Zenith New Chronomaster Open 2022 watch series
Zenith has announced the release of its new “Chronomaster Open” watch, which is inspired by the brand’s early 2000s treasure chest of time.
Three style versions of the “CO” will be offered, and include a stainless steel option with a silver dial, stainless steel with a black dial, and a rose gold option with a silver dial. Each dial is “open” and made up of 16 parts, including Zenith’s signature star logo, balance wheel, seconds wheel, escapement wheel, and more.
Recently presented at this year’s Watches & Wonders in Geneva, the addition of a “Caliber 3600” variant, as well as 39.5mm and 13.1mm cases, sets the new watch apart from its predecessors.
Speaking to Hodinkee about the new addition to the brand, Zenith Head of Product Development and Heritage Director Romain Marietta said: “It’s a very strong concept that was created in 2003 to allow customers to understand the high frequency [watchmaking]. We had to rework the movement to skeletonize it around the position of the escapement, to allow people to see inside the movement, to see the heartbeat – to help people understand high frequency.
The “Chronomaster Open” is due out soon and will cost US$10,000 from the brand’s website.
Meanwhile, Gucci celebrated 50 years of Gucci Swiss Timepieces with “Gucci Wonderland”.
